Cities are the driving force of global economic growth and home to almost half of the world’s population. 

The 2018 International Business Festival’s Urbanisation and Cities Day will examine the considerable leadership and governance challenges that must be overcome if cities are to fulfil their potential as engines for growth. 

We’ll explore how to find stability and opportunity in a changing world and showcase international market opportunities. You’ll meet with future partners, buyers and investors and develop profitable, meaningful relationships.

    Professor Michael Parkinson CBE is Associate Pro Vice Chancellor for civic engagement at the University of Liverpool. He has acted as adviser on urban affairs to the European Commission, the European Parliament, OECD, EUROCITIES, the Department of Communities and Local Government, the National Audit Office, the House of Commons Select Committees, the Core Cities and a range of cities in the UK and Europe. 

    Michael is a highly-respected voice in modern urban regeneration and will lead an engrossing and informed debate.
