ROYAL VISIT ANNOUNCEMENT
Kensington Palace has confirmed our Festival patron, the Duke of Cambridge, will attend the International Business Festival on June 19.
Prince William will tour the Festival Floor at Exhibition Centre Liverpool to see the best of British innovation, discuss with delegates the importance of business and how it can be a force for good, and meet the business leaders of tomorrow taking part in #NextGenFest.
His Royal Highness will then take to the Futures Stage to deliver a short speech. The Duke has previously championed British innovation in Japan, China and the US as part of the government's export-focused GREAT campaign.
When the Duke's patronage was announced at an event in London's Lancaster House last September, he said in a message: "The UK's prosperity relies on its wealth of innovative and ambitious small and medium-sized businesses.
"Whenever I have had the chance to meet the people who run such enterprises I have been struck by their ingenuity, drive and commitment. They demonstrate the best qualities of our national character."
The International Business Festival takes place across three weeks, bringing together thousands of delegates to gain insight, practical guidance and to make connections on one site. Between June 12 and 28, it will host nine days themed around high-growth sectors such as manufacturing, sustainable energy, health and life sciences, and the creative industries. Previous Festivals have facilitated some £500m in trade.
