International Business Festival 2018

LIVERPOOL 12-28 JUNE

.

ALREADY REAPING THE BENEFITS

04 October 2018

Our International Business Festival was still in full swing when the head of LKE UK’s Liverpool office, Bernard Molloy, tied up a £3m cross-borders deal to supply trolleys and trailers to Jaguar Land Rover.

"I was at the Festival virtually throughout; the quality of delegates was very high and the environment made it easier to get the deal signed off,” he said.

It will be a while before full results are in but several businesses reported promising results soon after the doors had closed. Ahead of our forthcoming full, independent report, here are just a few delegate testimonials to give you a flavour of things to come.

“We made over 250 new contacts at the Festival, including several from international delegations including China, India, Zambia, Peru, Lithuania, Israel and Poland. The interaction we had with these SMEs, larger corporates, intermediaries and academics proved to be of genuine interest and we are looking forward to see how these connections develop in the near future.”

Joanne Phoenix, Sensor City

"We loved it. The event was a really effective way of getting our brand out there, and with a big variety of companies from large, to small. But the quality of the enquiry was also very high. We’ve got bigger companies that we might push a little bit more now to take that next step beyond the introduction."

Andrew Dwerryhouse, Wild Thang  branded merchandise

“After the Investor Pitch, I was invited to Leeds to do another pitch for a bunch of angels. I’m also going to meet some venture capitalists who I met after that pitch in Leeds. That’s all as a direct result of coming to the International Business Festival."

Lewis James, AlgoLib

“An event of worldwide recognition being based in Liverpool provides fantastic opportunities for service industries such as ourselves. This event allows not only the city to show itself off but for Adlib to prove that a Liverpool company can provide a world-class service.”

Andy Dockerty, AdLib
