About The Festival

Our 2018 Festival celebrated and supported business, through unmissable conferences, seminars and bespoke business brokerage meetings at Exhibition Centre Liverpool for three weeks, from the 12 - 28 June 2018, bringing a world of business to anticipated crowds of thousands of delegates. The event built upon the legacy of our successful 2014 and 2016 Festivals but brought delegates something totally different at the same time.

HOW LONG HAS IT BEEN ESTABLISHED?

HOW LONG HAS IT BEEN ESTABLISHED?

In 2014, the International Business Festival was established as a biennial event that brought some of the world’s most ambitious businesses under one roof to make valuable business connections happen.

The Festival – staged in one of the UK’s most vibrant cities, Liverpool - captured the diversity and dynamism of the global marketplace. It hosted more than 100 individual events, from international conferences to intimate seminars, all housed within the £66m Exhibition Centre Liverpool. In 2016, the second International Business Festival welcomed more than 30,000 attendees from around the world.

People attend for many reasons, to do deals, be inspired, make connections and enjoy an exciting and engaging programme of expert panels, practical workshops and high-profile keynote addresses.

WHY SHOULD I ATTEND?

The International Business Festival has given a platform to some of the biggest and most influential names in their fields to share expertise and let delegates in on their success stories. With more than 400 events in total, we couldn’t possibly list all our speakers.

But here’s a small selection who took to the stage and told their story in 2018, just to give you a taste of what we can offer. - Wayne Hemingway MBE (Red or Dead) - Jude Kelly CBE, Former Artistic Director, Southbank Centre - Sadiq Khan, Mayor of London, Gina Miller, Transparency Activist, Tanya Beckett, BBC World News, Cherie Blair CBE, Chris Kutarna, author and futurologist, Juergen Mair, Siemens CEO, and Simon Segars, CEO Arm Holdings.

Over three weeks, the 2018 International Business Festival showcased the world of business as it is today, through an exceptional programme of conferences and seminars. Each featuring input from leading authorities in their fields, promising a range of contrasting and insightful views. It’s what gives our festival its lively atmosphere, memorable debates and lasting value.

The 2018 International Business Festival also helped businesses get to grips with new markets, including China, India and the Americas. True lands of opportunity, where savvy businesses can secure substantial growth.

The event featured an international marketplace,  TED-style talks from leading business minds, an innovation hub and brokered business meetings to make new deals happen.

GLOBAL MARKETS

GLOBAL MARKETS

Important delegates from 100 different countries attended the International Business Festival, meeting and networking with other event delegates. The 2018 International Business Festival was an open market to new deals, a gathering of ambitious international companies looking to meet new investors, suppliers and partners.

INNOVATION & INSPIRATION

Every year, the business world is transformed by both world events and innovations. Brexit, Trump, 3D tech, AI, VR, automation, and shiny-new social media are changing the way we do business at an incredible rate. In fact, the world of business has changed more in the last decade than any decade before.

The 2018 International Business Festival delved into new trends, helped businesses to successfully manoeuvre in an ever-changing world and highlighted the opportunities that global innovations present. The event presented inspiration from all angles - sometimes sought out, sometimes unexpected – challenging business philosophy and taking businesses in a new direction. When we say, our programme was inspiring, we mean it.

Our international marketplace allowed delegates you to connect with more than 100 business organisations and institutions, each a potential investor, partner or buyer. World-leading conferences and events, access to workshops, practical advice from industry experts and no-nonsense how-to sessions and panel debates generated and fed our delegates passion for business, inspiring bold new ambitions and informing new business strategy.

WHY LIVERPOOL?

Liverpool was made for business. Liverpool is a city that shines. It’s a lively place where the people have a true entrepreneurial spirit as famous as the warmth of their welcome. It was the perfect place to host our Festival. Well connected to the rest of the UK by road and rail, the city is well served by air, thanks to quick and easy access to international flights at both Liverpool John Lennon Airport and Manchester Airport.

But Liverpool is never all about business. A world-famous city of culture, music and sport, it has a global reputation for showing visitors a great time and 2018 is set to be the city’s most spectacular yet. The year marked one decade since Liverpool held it’s triumphant ‘Capital of Culture’ and to celebrate the city planned an ambitious, year-long cultural programme of internationally significant events, exhibitions and performances from the world’s greatest musicians, artists and cultural institutions.
